A: The whole idea of holding a "housewarming" party is a little iffy in the first place. It's like throwing a shower for yourself, because people will assume they are supposed to bring gifts.

Remember with a Retro Shower Curtain & Long Shower Curtain Liner ...

People who were around in the 60's and 70's have fond memories of that time, but younger people are also bringing the style back. One easy way to either remember those days or to incorporate retro style in your life is to decorate the bathroom in a retro style.

Retro shower curtains will often feature designs that are geometric in nature. The designs are bold and the colors are bright or if the background is dark it will have bright splashes of color. Finding the right shower curtain for your bathroom, if you want a retro look, is not very difficult as it is seems to be a returning trend. Accessorizing the rest of the bathroom elements to the curtain is easy, all you have to do is pick one of the colors from it and go with it, but you will also frequently find that the matching accessories are sold with the shower curtain.

If you are looking for a geometric vintage shower curtain, or in length for a long shower curtain liner , I would direct you to the Ty Pennington Wave. It is a fabric curtain with a big inverted rainbow like pattern. This curtain is available through Sears.

I'm just saying... It's not a criticism; It's an observation

I’ve spent the last week getting my step-son ready to go back to college, and this year he’s living on campus in the dorms.

I remember when my college roommate and I would spend the entire summer picking out curtains, matching bedspreads, decorations for the room, and all the accoutrements for the showers. We’d get matching towels and pretty little soaps……butterfly and hummingbird decorations for the windows and always a nifty shower curtain to set things just so.

I couldn’t wait to get started on Van’s room. At the beginning of the summer as soon as I got his roommate’s name, I emailed him and introduced myself. I was thinking of having the young man down for a weekend so he and Van could start picking out things for the room.

I overlooked one thing.

Van and his roommate are males.

Male people don’t care about matching bedspreads, ornamental lamps, snazzy sheets, and the last thing in the world they want are butterflies and humming birds anywhere near their room.
