How can I develop my creativity? How can I be more creative?
Well, you could hire an interior designer.
But doing it yourself is so much more fun. I’d visit a few stores like Ikea or Levit’s furniture to get a look around for (mostly furniture) to embellish the place. You can also try advice from your friends, other people usually have great ideas.
Try Home Depot for painting the walls, and maybe even getting nice carpet and rugs…(Not sure if they sell rugs too though, but probably carpet)
In general, shopping at furniture stores works very well to find an intriguing table or chair set.
To be truly creative, I would say that you avoid all interior designers and websites.
Go through some old catalogues and magazines and cut out pictures of pieces you like. Put them together on one page and see if you like the look of them.
Once you have an idea of what sort of furniture / decorations you want, start with your favourite colour. Use it for the walls or, if it’s dark (and hard to paint over), for the furniture. Go for accents (drapes, cushions, area rugs) in your second or third favourite colours. Decide whether you like dark wood, light wood, or painted wood — or metal — for the occasional tables.
